Experiments in Art, Symbolism and the Unconscious Mind
It seems that we spend our lifetime looking outside of ourselves for guidance; for instruction on how to live, what to do, what is right and what is wrong. We establish systems with experts or authorities in place, who set the rules, enforce the plans and absorb the anxieties that we may have because we believe that we don't know.
But, what if we do know?
What if the answers, or access to them, are within us all along and it's just that we have never been taught the value of looking inwards in order to understand who we are and what we need?
This collection of art evolved out of an experiment to increase personal understanding and to connect to the knowns and the unknowns of the inner world.
External figures or structures are no longer able to absorb our anxieties in society today but can, in reality, be a source of magnification to them.
Our next step really is to go back in.
